Fiberglass Windows vs Vinyl Replacement Windows in Michigan

Josh with Majic Window here. I just want to tell you a quick little story about myself and my experience. About a year ago, my wife and I were purchasing a new in Michigan home. And when we went to look at the home, my wife went by herself, of course. And she fell in love with the house. The house itself is beautiful. It is everything both of us had wanted. And she started sending me pictures, and showing me things about the house. To my surprise I saw there were white windows in the house. I had assumed because it was a 10 year old house that it was vinyl windows in the house. So, already in my head I’m thinking to myself and counting the dollar signs on what it would cost me to replace vinyl windows.
Fortunately, when I finally got an opportunity to look at the house we saw Majic Fiberglass Windows were in the house. I knew that I’d have windows that would last a long time. I’d never have to worry about them. I’d never have to worry about maintenance because of the longevity of fiberglass windows and how well they work.
Fiberglass itself is much better than a lot of other materials. And, and the reason it’s better, is because it doesn’t thermally expand and contract. What that means is, fiberglass isn’t going to allow air to come in, and around the window. Deteriorating the actual efficiency of the windows over time like vinyl or other materials. Another thing is, it holds up extremely well in the elements. Fiberglass itself doesn’t get affected by sunlight. It doesn’t bow, warp, or twist. Fiberglass never needs any scraping or sanding, like woods or other materials.
Vinyl on the other hand does thermally expand and contract quite a bit. That thermal expansion and contraction you have with vinyl windows is going to lead to a lot of issues with locks not lining up and the window itself not opening and closing the way you would expect it to and like we talked about, that air infiltration coming in and around the frame.
Wood is very beautiful, obviously, has all types of good things as far as conductivity, but wood windows require a ton of maintenance and it expands and contracts. Wood itself can bow, warp, and twist over time. It just doesn’t hold up to the elements like you would want it to here in Michigan. Magic Fiberglass Windows don’t do any of these things that we talked about wood windows and vinyl windows.
Magic Fiberglass Windows can be finished with a real wood interior that you can stain just like people like to with wood. With that being said, fiberglass windows are definitely the choice. Magic Fiberglass Windows is going to be the best window to install in your house for longevity for a window that you won’t have to worry about for a lifetime.
