Lowe’s installed Pella replacement windows & water leaked in master bedroom on May 1st 2014
This is the 3rd time my replacement Pella windows have leaked. Twice the Lowe’s installers have returned to fix the leak, and have been unsuccessful. I believe the only fix is to remove the “replacement” windows, and install “new construction” windows. Since “new construction” windows have a nail flange, they properly flash and tape (seal) the windows to the OSB…keeping out all water! With “replacement” windows there isn’t a nail flange…they cut out the old window and ONLY foam spray, calk and tape them in place…this obviously doesn’t seal out water and moisture!
