How top open and close track mounted plantation window shutters fitted on a patio door
Sam Dunster from demonstrates how to open and close a set of 8 bi-folding track mounted plantation window shutters, you can read more about tracked shutters here – http://www.opennshut.co.uk/portfolio-items/track-frames/
In this video all 8 shutters are hinged to the left, but you can order them so they split equally from the centre and open 4 to the left and 4 to the right.
Starting from side they fold back to, close the louvres blades and pull open the first bi-folded shutter then work your way along the shutters closing the louvres and opening each shutter where they hinge towards you.
If all the louvres are closed, you can just slide all the plantation shutters towards you bi-folding them together as you go.
These tracked shutters have a bottom guide, so it makes them easy to operate as they glide along the track which keeps them neatly in line.
To close the shutters just pull the first shutter back along the track until it reaches the other side.
Track mounted shutters are perfect for wide windows, room dividers, patio doors or French doors. Supporting the shutters on a track allows you to cover a much wider area than you could with normal shutters.
These are bi-folding shutters so they are hinged, but you can order them so they slide past each other, these are called bi-pass shutters.
